VP hopeful makes football game day stop in Ohio

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) ? Republican vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan found a natural crowd to play to Saturday in the key battleground state of Ohio.

The Wisconsin congressman and running mate to Mitt Romney shook hands and flipped burgers ahead of the Ohio State Buckeyes' match-up against Ryan's alma mater, Miami University of Ohio.

Ryan also made a visit to the Miami locker room, exchanging words and handshakes with the team.

The Buckeyes won the season-opener for both teams, 56-10.

His appearance came the same day Romney was in another Ohio city, Cincinnati, as the GOP ticket works to win a state that backed Democratic President Barack Obama four years ago.

Vice President Joe Biden was in Ohio on Friday and Obama visits the state Monday.
